  • Starting on the 1st July 2014, all fabricators of steel structures will have to CE mark their products in compliance with EN standard 1090-2.

    On the one hand, this new legislation will make the European market more competitive by introducing a uniform standard for all countries in the European Community. On the other hand, it will also require fabricators to adapt their working methods and procedures according to the new certification system.

    In order to simplify the certification process, Selco is offering a chance to purchase a special 1090 version of its Genesis Series MSE/PME/GSM MIG/MAG welding power sources with 16 welding procedures conforming to EN standard 1090-2 already incorporated. These procedures refer to the most common execution conditions (EN 1090-2, Table 12, Execution Class EXC2) and cover the needs of most normal welding in the field of structural fabrication.

  • Under current legislation, pWPSs and WPQRs may be transferred from one organisation to another under certain conditions.

    To make use of this opportunity, Selco has introduced a special Package designed to help customers achieve EN 1090 certification faster and more easily.

    • Welding processes in the fabrication of products destined for CE marking must be in execution classes EXC1 or EXC2.
    • In the case of welding in execution class EXC2, the Package applies only to steels with ≤ S 355 and to manual or partly automatic welding (excluding fully automatic welding)..
    • Welding must be performed using the same power sources and welding software as the processes for which Selco has obtained certification.
    • Welding must be performed using Selco’s own EN 1090 software, and the welding process certified by the corresponding WPS must be selected.

    The Selco EN 1090 Package covers all welding procedures currently certified by Selco. See the relevant section for the full list.

  • The table shows the Selco generators that can be provided on request with certification EN1090 integrated.
